Fault tolerant broadband

Fault Tolerant Broadband

Business relies increasingly on the internet to interact with it clients and suppliers. The problem with this reliance is that a business connected on a single broadband link is placing itself in a vulnerable position due to the reliability and service level agreements available on broadband connections.

Because the service relies on BT for the lines in to the premises and then the internet provider for the service beyond the exchange, no one provider is responsible for the service end to end and this is why no provider can provide a service level agreement for the service.

The solution to this problem is to reduce the risk of an outage happening by having more than one broadband link in to the premises. Taking this approach means that should a single broadband link fail then the company can still remain connected to the internet using the remaining working link. With links provided from different core internet suppliers the risk is further reduced as the potential of a failure is both providers networks is extremely remote.

1st Solution offer a range of low cost load balanced solutions to dramatically reduce the risk of loss of connectivity. These solutions can include what should be seen as essential associated services when using load balancing, including authenticated outbound email relay to ensure your email will route outbound through either link, and dynamic DNS service to allow remote VPN workers to gain access to the system through either broadband link without manual IP address changes.
